Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Call Off Their Engagement

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Call Off Their Engagement

After nearly fives months of romance, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have parted ways and called off their engagement.
According to TMZ and People, the pop star and Saturday Night Live comedian -- who started dating in May -- mutually agreed to the split, indicating that the timing was off for their relationship to develop and that they still deeply care about each other. (Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Grande and Davidson.)

Grande was scheduled to appear at a F--k Cancer benefit on Saturday (Oct. 14) but canceled her performance at the fundraiser for Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala. Scooter Braun, her manager, alluded to the difficult time Grande is going through in a speech he delivered at the event according to E! News. (In addition to the end of her relationship with Davidson, Grande was deeply affected by the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, in September.)
"One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they're having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments," Braun said. "And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today... my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, 'She needs this time.'"
