After teasing new music over the last few weeks, Trippie Redd's new song, "Topanga" has arrived. The extremely confident rapper's latest banger hit the internet earlier today (Oct. 22) as part of Zane Lowe's latest World Record on Apple Music's Beats 1.
Die-hard
Trippie Redd fans will instantly recognize the high-pitch vocals from
the rapper's previously released Instagram post. Before making a cameo
in a Hulu commercial, in September, the "Dark Knight Gummo" rapper shared a snippet of the upbeat track and the animated single artwork, which was inspired by one of his personal muses, The Gorillaz.
With
the new CDQ release also comes the official single artwork. The Canton,
Ohio native ditches the Gorillaz-inspired art for a provocative image
that's guaranteed to get the haters talking. Trippie appears in
religious attire while levitating.
The
ChopSquad DJ-produced track kicks off with a melodic piano riff before
gliding into an uptempo, twerk-worthy instrumental. The 19-year-old
rhymer proceeds to throw down reckless bars in the song. "Bitch I ain't
goin' for nothin'/Got this choppa on me then I'm bustin'/If you run out
on me then I'm gunnin'/Hit you in your stomach, we tote 'em in public,"
Trippie raps.
This year, Trippie Redd is
proving to be an unstoppable force in the rap game. After closing out
the summer with his debut solo album, Life's a Trip, the 2018 XXL Freshman recently announced his highly-anticipated project, A Love Letter to You 3, which will be the third installment of his notable mixtape series, is on the way. Along with appearing on Lil Yachty's Nuthin' to Prove album, Redd also previewed a snippet of unreleased music with Juice Wrld on Instagram.
"You
got flipped and left in the past to me/You pick that knife up and you
stabbing me/Wish it was a paper cut but it's the cash I bleed," Trippie
rhymes on the untitled collab with Juice.
Later this month, Trippie will hit the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage to perform while next month, he hits the road on the Astroworld tour with Travis Scott.
